The Launch of the International Year of Co-operatives (IYC) 2012
With total assets “conservatively gauged at around $9 billion”, the Co-operative movement of Trinidad and Tobago is “a very important part of the overall financial system.”
The Honourable Minister of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development Errol McLeod made these remarks, as he delivered the feature address at the launch of the International Year of Co-operatives (IYC) 2012.

Minister's Trip to Tobago
The Honourable Errol Mc Leod, Minister of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Orville London, Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly on 6th September, 2010. On this same day the Minister also presented remarks at the Occupational Safety and Health Authority/Agency (OSHA), Sensitization Seminar for Secretaries of the Tobago House of Assembly and payed a visit to the Honourable Whitney Alfred, Secretary, Settlements and Labour of the Tobago House of Assembly

Conciliation Graduation and Awards Ceremony
The Conciliation Unit of the Ministry of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development will be hosting an Awards Ceremony in furtherance of the skills development of its Conciliation Officers who embarked on a Training Workshop in Mediation Skills for its new officers. This event took place on Friday 27th August, 2010 at Duke Place, #50-54 Duke Street, Port of Spain.

National Stakeholder Consultation with Workers' Organisations
The Honourable Errol Mc Leod, Minister of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development will be embarking on a series of Consultations with stakeholders, which includes workers and employers. The first Consultation was held with workers’ organizations on Tuesday 24th August, 2010 in the Port-of-Spain Ballroom, Hyatt Regency Trinidad.

HIV Advocacy and Sustainability Centre - Launch of HIV/AIDS 5 Year Sustainability Plan
On August 26th, 2010 - Relief has arrived for persons with HIV/AIDS in Trinidad & Tobago. The Ministry of Labour, Small and Micro Enterprise Development is rolling-out government's National Workplace Policy on HIV/AIDS; designed to bring equity and fairness into the workplace; replacing old tensions with collaboration, cooperation, care and understanding.

The Sixteenth Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labour (XVI IACML), July 27th - 29th, 2010
The Honourable Errol Mc Leod, accompanied by a delegation from the Ministry of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development, participated in meetings of the Organisation of American States which were held in the Dominican Republic from July 27 to 29, 2010.
Discussions were held on the themes “Decent work to face the global economic crisis with social justice for a fair globalization” and “Strengthening of Ministries of Labour to promote decent work”, during which Minister Mc Leod delivered a presentation.

The Fifteenth Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labour (XV IACML), September 11th - 13th, 2007
The Fifteenth Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labour was held from September 11-13, 2007 at the Hilton Trinidad and Conference Centre. It brought together representatives of Ministries of Labour from twenty-five (25) Member States of the OAS including twelve (12) Ministers of Labour as well as representatives of business, trade unions and international organizations. The Secretary General of the Organization of American States, His Excellency José Miguel Insulza and the Director-General of the International Labour Organization, His Excellency Dr. Juan Somavía, were in attendance.
