Ministry Appoints Members to New Councils and Committees

The Ministry of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development held a ceremony on Tuesday 31st January, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency to appoint members to the following Councils and Committees:

• The Steering Committee for Action against Discrimination and Sexual Harassment in the Workplace;
  
• The Working Committee for the Establishment of a Heroes Park and Museum in Fyzabad Trinidad;
• The National Productivity Council of Trinidad and Tobago and;
• The Standing National Labour Market Council of Trinidad and Tobago.

International Year of Co-operatives (IYC) 2012

The United Nations has proclaimed 2012 the International Year of 
Co-operatives (IYC) under that theme "Co-operative Enterprises Build a Better World".

Under the chairmanship of the Minister of Labour and Small and Micro Enterprise Development, The honourable Errol McLeod, a national committee comprising of stakeholders of the Co-operative Movement in Trinidad and Tobago established to develop (as appropriate) a plan of action containing activities and initiatives. The Ministry officially launched IYC 2012 on November 21st 2011 at the Hyatt Regency.
